Happy April Fools! What is really just a minor event for most studios has become our biggest holiday ever since we started the Rivals Direct five years ago. This year, Adam Carra returned to work with some *special guests* to help put on the reveal show. Watch the full direct below, or skip down to the highlights if you’re afraid of puppets:

Rivals 2

Rivals 2 has officially been announced! The game is still in development with a target launch date sometime in 2024. We know that’s a long way off but we think it will be worth the wait. Check out the announcement trailer for a first look at gameplay along with a few characters and stages.

If you’re excited for Rivals 2 you’ll also want to head over to our new website: Rivals2.com. You can sign up for our mailing list to stay up to date on important news – like when closed beta signups open in 2023. We also have a massive FAQ available that should give you an idea of where the game is heading.

Dungeons of Aether

More on Dungeons of Aether has finally been revealed – including the exciting news of a release later this year on October 25, 2022. With a launch date on the horizon our Steam store page is now available as well. If you’re interested in seeing more of our turn-based dungeon crawler, or just a fan of our studio, please add the game to your wishlist today.

Fraymakers

Fraymakers joined in on the Rivals Direct fun and confirmed that Orcane is joining their Early Access roster! They also revealed the results of their Rivals assist poll… and the winner may surprise you. See it all in their announcement trailer below:

Fraymakers plans to release in August 2022, and you can wishlist Fraymakers on Steam today:

Symbiote Studios

In celebration of the holiday, Symbiote Studios surprised fans with a bait and switch. Their cute and cuddly Sandbert plush adds to the characters released before a certain bird. #NeverWrastor

You can pick up the Sandbert plush and others from their Rivals collection right now at SymbioteStudios.com.

And That’s A Wrap

Thanks for watching, and we hope you enjoyed a day dedicated to a little fun and some cool reveals. We weren’t sure how we were going to top last year’s Twitch Plays Rivals Direct 3, but somehow we think we managed to do it with the help of Manual Cinema, Adam Carra and the Puppets of Aether Show. Let us know your favorite part of the show or game update in the comments below!
