The Season 1 NA Rivals 2 Rankings are finally here! After each season we look back on the previous competitive year, and the players who influenced our scene, by creating a Top 50 Players list to honor and celebrate our greatest competitors. Here are players #20 – 11 on this year’s list.

20. CheesyPotato

A legendary Kragg from Rivals 1 and a staple of Tristate, CheesyPotato has again found major success in this game, both with Kragg and a new character: La Reina. Known for her quick, highly technical gameplay combined with the patience to bait her opponents in, Cheesy is capable of finding stocks at unprecedented speed should she find an opening. She was also one of the most active competitors this season, traveling to over ten majors and battling her way to great results tournament after tournament. With a controller button for every circumstance and tech that looks like it shouldn’t be possible, CheesyPotato will continue her quest to claim victory for the glory of New York.

19. Dakpo

Whatever you do, don’t let Dakpo perch on the ledge, or it’s over for you. As one of our strongest competitors this season, Dakpo very comfortably makes it onto this list due to incredible consistency and a willingness to evolve Wrastor’s neutral game, being part of the exclusive club of players with multiple Top 8s at offline majors. With an amazing resume like his, extending across games all the way back to Brawl, it should inspire you that no matter the game, the era, or the controller, you can always become one of the greats.

18. Animal

The man who survived the longest Melee set in history has returned! Finding another type of back throw shine for another decade, Animal has blessed this season with the power of his Etalus, boasting a terrifyingly optimized advantage state. One of the oldest and most employed players on the ranking, Animal is an absolute creature and will do anything to rob you of a stock and post the clip to YouTube. Keep an eye on your stocks, or they might be gone before you can even tell.

17. vibe

The new age of Rivals is here, and Vibe is here to showcase it. Taking his experience from Super Smash Bros. Melee, Vibe locks in to our first ranking as one of the very few people to take a set on Stango. One of the scariest Clairens on the sticks, he supplements a rock-solid neutral with a punish game for the ages, hitting massive edgeguards with tipper neutral special and keeping opponents reeling for obscenely long strings. Whatever you do, don’t let him dash dance grab you, or you’ve already lost.

16. elkiies

No one does it like Elk. One of a kind, elkiies has a single goal: hit you and take your stock in the most offensive way possible. She will read your jump, she will read your dash back, and she will read your soul. Elkiies found success this first season primarily with Maypul, but she’s since incorporated a La Reina that strikes fear into the hearts of every level of competitor. Pray she doesn’t get to observe you long enough, because the longer a set goes, the more power she gets.

15. FullStream

The original king of Rivals, FullStream clocked back in for a strong attempt to take back his crown in the new era. His Etalus is a sight to behold, with fundamentals that make it clear he hasn’t lost his Midas touch. Although rare to see at a tournament, FullStream made the most of the majors he did attend, with strong showings at the biggest tournaments of the year in the form of an Evo Top 8 and a Genesis Top 16. Let’s hope we get more appearances from him this next season!

14. Kyb

Kyb snuck his way up high on this ranking with some insane results! Another Rivals 1 legend, he showed up to conquer the Pacific Northwest with his signature controller, the Pyramid of Power. Wins on Sophilo, ZeeBee, and his rival Fleet Mystery Sol alongside strong results at majors like Genesis and Port Priority solidify his place as one of the strongest Fleets on the rankings. When he sits down, be sure to make some room for the pyramid, because without its power, he might just seem human.

13. MysterySol

Mystery Sol never fails to make a new contraption and never misses a shot. Boasting both a Fleet and Galvan capable of taking down the best players in the world, Sol is a highly adaptable player who can pull off tech, net incredible stocks, and force opponents to play their game in neutral with the same aplomb. Competing primarily on the West Coast didn’t hamper their results in the slightest, with excellent runs at tournaments like Evo, Genesis, and Port Priority. Keep an eye out for what Sol cooks up, because if you get distracted, you’ve already fallen for their trap.

12. ZeusDahGoose

Nobody harbors more whimsy and joy than ZeusDahGoose. A new addition to the Rivals community, Zeus brings endless positivity to the scene, along with cheerfully merciless Kragg gameplay. Whether he’s on stage or on his own stream, he makes a point of having fun while putting every player on the ranking on edge, placing in the single digits at every major he’s attended. The goose is loose, and you better watch out.

11. ZeeBee

What more is there to say about ZeeBee that hasn’t been said before? There will never be another human on earth with such a unique mind and a talent for creative gameplay. A living encyclopedia of Kragg tech, ZeeBee uses this knowledge to warp reality for their opponents, pulling out mind-boggling setups they’ve never played against before and never will again. Beyond technical ability, they’re also known for their patience, grinding opponents into dust and crushing both body and spirit. But ZeeBee carries all this out with an infectious enthusiasm that makes them impossible to root against… even when standing on a pillar beneath Hyperborean Harbor.
