The Season 1 NA Rivals 2 Rankings are finally here! After each season we look back on the previous competitive year, and the players who influenced our scene, by creating a Top 50 Players list to honor and celebrate our greatest competitors. Here are players #30 – 21 on this year’s list.

30. Acorn

The child of legend, Acorn is one of our youngest (if not the youngest) ranked players of the season! Acorn has an insane resume of wins, including a top 8 at CEO with a win against Dakpo along the way, and he is definitely set up to rise throughthe ranks this next season. One of the most patient Zetterburnsever born, he better be on your radar, or he will run over your bracket.

29. Musiq

No one expected how absurdly deep Musiq’s Supernova run would go, not even Musiq. Driving down for the single day of bracket before Top 6, he had nowhere to stay after his excellent string of wins (including Dakpo, HyperFlame, and HamPolo) qualified him for the finals. But although he may have had to scramble for somewhere to sleep, Musiq proved that his Clairen was nothing to sleep on, presenting an unbreakable wall for his opponents. Solid results at other majors on top of this feat, including Collision and GOML, netted him a spot in the R2CS rankings without issue.

28. Landon

One of the cleanest to ever pick up a sword, Landon finds their way into a top 30 finish this season. Whether it was defending the homeland by winning regionals in Saint Paul or traveling to Maryland to lay waste to the East Coast, Landon’s bracket runs this season were nothing to scoff at, including a strong 3rd at Frosty Faustings and great placements at both Heat Wave and Genesis. Landon’s ability to battle and beat the best is exceptional, and don’t expect it to go away any time soon.

27. Nbad

No one double fairs the way Nbad does. With an advantage state to be feared, he has a knack for reaching for the depths and making it back, so be sure to keep track of all your resources offstage when playing against his Maypul. If you ever meet him at an event, be sure to shake his hand, because it’s pretty rare that he appears, with Heat Wave and Battle of BC being some of his only offline majors this season. But when he does, he makes sure to put on a show that’s impossible to forget.

26. Stro

The champion of Arizona and of countless Wasteland Warriors tournaments, Stro rightfully claims their spot at #26. One of the most dominant local competitors throughout the country, Stro’s successes weren’t just limited to state lines, finding success in multiple regions and with multiple characters including Clairen, Ranno, and Olympia. Their results this season shined, with two major Top 8s and wins over elkiies, Gengur, HyperFlame, and Yoda Cage. Whether it be online or offline, the deserts of Arizona or the Windy City, Stro will find a way to place their mark on the map.

25. Salt

One of the greatest Falcons to ever do it has entered the land of Aether! Joining the fight late into the season couldn’t stop Salt; securing some amazing wins both online and offline cemented her spot as one of the scariest Zetterburns and one of the best platform fighter players in the world. Her unshakable confidence was on display at every tournament she went to, never placing below her seed at any bracket this season. This was most on display at the Coinbox’s Genesis X3 Qualifier, where she pulled off a gauntlet of game 5 wins against AppleWiz, Beastly, and Sophilo for a strong 3rd place finish. Salt continues to chase even more success, and if her track record across titles has anything to say about it, expect her to be holding the gold sooner rather than later.

24. Boiko

A highly respected competitor, Boiko, the master of many characters, gets ranked in R2CS’s first season! Renowned in many platfighters over many eras, Boiko has blessed us with his presence in this season and hopefully for many more to come. If you see him trying out a new character as opposed to his signature Clairen, you better be ready to learn, because he knows something you don’t.

23. Switch

Since the game’s release, Switch has been one of the strongest competitors it’s possible to find in a bracket. Having shown his ability with Zetterburn, Maypul, and even Olympia, he’s more than solidified his rank of 23rd with fundamentals that span across games and a knack for highly aggressive play. Without him, we would never get the state-mandated Switch vs. ZeeBee set in the top cut of every major. Be sure to thank him for his service at the next event you see him at!

22. HyperFlame

Another veteran of the scene, HyperFlame solidifies himself as one of the strongest Zetterburns to ever do it. Ultra-aggressive and ultra-technical, his signature style is pushing the limits of his character, labbing out confirms and techniques no one else would dare to try. Currently on a new journey to show how strong our newest character Slade is, only time will tell if HyperFlame can keep his victories coming up with his new choice of character.

21. sly

After a rough start at the beginning of the season, Sly spent many hours mind melding with the Clairen hivemind to form the perfect player. Hard work is the cornerstone of his playstyle; persistently honing his skills, pushing the limits of confirms, and carefully thinking through neutral has led him to his current success. Conquering many demons and cracking into his first Top 8 over the course of the season, Sly aims to prove that improving like this is something anyone, even you, can do! And to those who would rather complain, he has one message: grow up.
